IAIF Holds Graduation Ceremony of MBA and DBA Courses

The Iranian Association of Islamic Finance held another graduation ceremony of MBA and DBA courses in Islamic Capital market.

The Iranian Association of Islamic Finance held the graduation ceremony of the first edition of MBA and first to fourth editions of DBA courses in Islamic Capital Market and fourth edition of Portfolio Management course on 24 November, 2022 in the Central Bank of Iran. 

In the beginning of the ceremony Dr. Gholamreza Mesbahi Moghadam, Head of the Shariah Council at the Central Bank of Iran, talked about Islamic financial challenges in banking sector and Islamic capital market of Iran, adding the Islamic capital market has several sub-groups including stock exchange and banking system.

He mentioned that we can say our today's capital market is based on Islamic instruments. But there is still a long way that has to be passed on the money market path.

Somewhere else Dr. Mesbahi Moghadam stressed that since Shariah Committee of the Securities and Exchange Organization was launched in 2016, lots of work was done regarding the jurisprudential aspect of the stock exchange activities and today we are witnessing the development of numerous financial instruments designed and used in this market.

At the end he said we even hold international training courses for Islamic capital market in which the participants are from different countries.

Then Dr. Ali Saleh Abadi, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran and President of the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance, said four years have passed approximately since the Shariah Council of the Central Bank of Iran was shaped and two new instruments have been launched to the market:

  1. Central Bank coin certificate
  2. Foreign exchange certificate in Melli Bank

He also reiterated that the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance was established to develop Islamic financial literacy in the money market, capital market and even in the field of insurance.

It is worth mentioning that the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance in cooperation with Imam Sadiq University, the Securities and Exchange Organization, REDmoney Malaysia, Iran Financial Center and Gharz al-Hassan Resalat Bank designs and holds the DBA course in the Islamic capital market to develop Islamic financial literacy.
The structure and syllabuses of the course are designed to meet the growing needs of the country's capital market and train specialized, efficient and familiar human resources regarding the current issues of this area.
