 Iranian Association of Islamic Finance held a workshop on “Introduction to AAOIFI’s Exam” in cooperation with AAOIFI.

The Iranian Association of Islamic Finance (IAIF) held a workshop on “Introduction to AAOIFI’s Exam“ in collaboration with Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) on May 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM Iran time.
In the workshop, the AAOFI’s representative gave a lecture on the importance of the exam and what opportunities it provides for the holders of AAOIFI’s certificate.

At the beginning of this meeting, Zainab Darwish, Head of AAOIFI's capacity building and programs department, thanked the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance for holding this meeting, saying we hope that according to the agreements made between the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance and AAOIFI, we will see the the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance as our agent for holding AAOIFI’s exams in Tehran as soon as possible.
She stated currently, AAOIFI has more than 70 representatives in different countries.
Zainab Darwish said Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) is an independent international non-profit organization that provides accounting, auditing, governance, ethics and Shariah standards for Islamic financial institutions and the Islamic financial industry.
To enhance the Islamic finance industry's human resource and governance structures, AAOIFI
offeres professional qualification programs.
She elaborated the AAOIFI’s exams as follows:
The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) is an Islamic international autonomous non-for-profit corporate body that prepares accounting, auditing, governance, ethics and Shari'a standards for Islamic financial institutions and the industry. Professional qualification programs are presented now by AAOIFI in its efforts to enhance the industry's human resources base and governance structures.


Certified Shari'a Advisor and Auditor (CSAA)

CSAA is a professional fellowship in Shari’ah Advisory and Shari’ah Auditing. It is designed to equip candidates with the requisite technical understanding and professional skills on Shari’ah compliance and review processes for international Islamic banks and financial institutions.
The fellowship places greater emphasis on practical knowledge and real-world applications (and exercises) to deliver an enhanced and optimized learning experience.

Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA)

CIPA is a fellowship program in Islamic finance accountancy offered by AAOIFI. The program is designed to equip candidates with the technical knowledge and professional skills in accountancy and related fields (including audit, risk management, governance, law, and tax) required by international Islamic banks and financial institutions. The program emphasizes practical knowledge and real-world applications to enhance and optimize the learning experience.

Certified Shari’ah Expert (CSE)

CSE is a fellowship program whose primary objective is to equip candidates with the technical knowledge and professional skills required to advise on how contracts, products, transactions, investments, as well as, profit and loss distribution mechanisms between Islamic Financial Institutions and investment account holders, including other related matters, should be in compliance with Shari’ah principles and rules as defined by AAOIFI standards. The program emphasizes practical knowledge and real-world applications to enhance and optimize the learning experience.

Certified Shari’ah Auditor (CSA)

CSA is a fellowship program to develop human resource for Islamic financial institutions’ internal Shari’ah audit, external Shari’ah audit, and Shari’ah compliance functions. The primary objective of the program is to equip candidates with the technical knowledge and professional skills required to prepare and conduct risk-based Shari’ah audits and compliance reviews in accordance with AAOIFI standards, other international standards and global best practices. The program emphasizes practical knowledge and real-world applications to enhance and optimize the learning experience

Certificate of Proficiency in Financial Accounting Standards (CPFAS)

CPFAS is an advanced-level certificate program designed for Islamic finance accountancy professionals who wish to develop correct understanding, interpretation, and implementation skills in the requirements of the AAOIFI financial accounting standards. The certificate places greater emphasis on the development of technical / practical knowledge and skills in the application of FASs at Islamic financial institutions (IFIs) and for Islamic finance transactions.
