The second graduation ceremony of DBA course in the Islamic Capital Market was held in the Central Bank of Iran on Monday, Jan. 27, in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank, President of the Securities and Exchange Organization, Chairman of the Sharia Council of the Central Bank, CEO of Fara Bourse and professors and students of DBA courses.

In the beginning of the ceremony, Amir Yousefi Moghadam, Secretary General of the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance, said DBA course in the Islamic capital market has been held five times so far, in which more than 120 students have participated. The graduates of this course, who have reached 33 people by taking into account’s today graduation ceremony, are awarded Persian DBA degree and professional certificates in capital market principles, Capital Market Analysis and Portfolio Management which are approved by the Association, Imam Sadiq University and Securities and Exchange Organization; moreover, an English certificate in the Islamic capital Market, which is signed by the Association and REDmoney from Malaysia, is given to the graduates.

Then Dr. Majid Eshghi, President of the Securities and Stock Exchange Organization, mentioned we support this professional course (the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance’s DBA courses in Islamic Capital Market) which is held with special principles and quality. It can help to improve the capital market.

He went on to say that the discussion of designing instruments used to be done in the organization but today, the familiarity of the professional staff of financial institutions with instrumentation has paved the way for them to make it in institutions, which is gratifying. Of course, this is another mission of DBA graduates.

Next Dr. Ali Salehabadi, Governor of the Central Bank and President of the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance, stated the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance’s DBA course in the Islamic Capital Market is not comparable to anywhere in terms of syllabus and quality of the course and it is a kind of exemplary. Also, this course is not just academic and scientific, but it is a practical and professional course in which participation requires relevant work experience.

Finally, Dr Mesbahi Moghadam, Chairman of the Sharia Council of the Central Bank, said the establishment of the Sharia Committee of the Securities and Stock Exchange Organization, as well as the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance was Dr. Salehabadi’s initiative.

While congratulating the graduates of DBA course in the Islamic Capital Market, he said ‘I am very delighted and I feel satisfied that I had this chance to teach one of the subjects in this course’. Dr. Mesbahi Moghadam stressed that holding this course several times shows that the culture of paying attention to religion is spreading in economics.
