The main focus of the meeting was on the latest developments of Islamic finance in both Iranian banking system and Islamic capital market.

At first, Dr. Hossein Meysami, Head of Head of the Secretariat of Shariah Council of the Central Bank of Iran, delivered his lecture on the structure of the Iranian banking system, clarifying how an Islamic banking law is passed based on Shariah principles within the framework of the Imami Fiqh.

Then Dr. Majid Pireh, Secretary of Shariah Council at Securities and Exchange Organization of Iran, gave a lecture about Iranian capital market, emphasizing issuance of sukuk in the Iranian market.

After that the members exchanged their views regarding the mentioned points. At the end, Amir Yousefi Moghadam, Secretary General of IAIF, appreciated dynamic and productive participations of the members, asking the members send their articles for the upcoming event of the IAIF.

It is worth mentioning that the main objective of forming the International Forum Committee is to provide a platform to share the latest achievements and developments of Islamic finance in the world with the participation of Islamic finance scholars from four corners of the world to review them and also establish communication between professors and scientists in this field to contribute to the dynamics of the Islamic finance industry in the world, and make available successful experiences in various aspects of Islamic finance to everyone.

The meeting of the IAIF’s international Forum Committee is held every 3 months, hosted by the Iranian Association of Islamic Finance.
